THE ROSIE EFFECT Graeme Simsion
THE END WE START FROM Megan Hunter
For perfect light summer reading, revisit the characters from The Rosie Project, with its sequel, The Rosie Effect. The book is a wonderful continuation the relationship between Don Tillman, a geneticist with high achieving autism, and his new wife Rosie, a medical student with personal baggage, as they navigate the dangerous seas of the first year of marriage.
Speaking of seas, or water to be more precise, pick up The End We Start From by Megan Hunter. Hunter is primarily a poet, and this novel is a poetic take on an epic flood that wipes out London, and its effect on a new family. I read the entire book in less than an hour, but the effects of the story and its imagery lasted far longer.
